Ps 3 Datenblatt Als Datenträger werden nicht wie bei der Xbox 360 DVDs, sondern gleich Blu-Ray-Discs zum Einsatz kommen, welche ca. 6-mal soviel Speicherkapazität besitzen wie DVDs. Ebenso soll die PS3 CR-ROM, CDR+W, DVD, DVD-ROM, DVD-R und DVD+R abspielen können und somit abwärtskompatibel bis zur Urplaystation sein. Als Prozessor wird ein Cell-Prozessor mit einer Taktrate von 3,2 Ghz zum Einsatz kommen, welcher stolze 2,18 Teraflops an Leistung bringen kann. Also fast doppelt soviel wie die nächste Xbox. Wie auch die Xbox 360 besitzt die PS3 512 MB Ram, welcher allerdings auf 256 MB Haupt-RAM und 256 MB Grafikspeicher aufgeteilt wird. Als Grafikchip wird der RSX (Reality Synthesizer) zum Einsatz kommen, der auf NVidia-Technologie basiert. Glaubt man den Angaben soll er doppelt so schnell sein, wie die derzeit schnellste Grafikkarte von NVidia, die GeForce 6800. Der Grafikchip bekommt nochmals 512 MB Ram und kann somit 51 Billion Punkte pro Sekunde berechnen. Die Playstation 3 wird insgesamt über 6 USB 2.0 Ports verfügen, wobei 4 Stück an der Front und 2 Stück an der Rückseite zu finden sind. Weitere Features sind der 1-Gigabit Netzwerk Port, ein AV Multi-Out Port,ein optischer SP/DIF Audio-Ausgang, zwei HDMI Video-Ausgänge, Steckplätze für Memory Stick Duo, SD- und Compact Flash-Karten und ein Slot für eine herausnehmbare 2,5" Festplatte. Die Controller werden kabellos über Bluetooth mit der Konsole verbunden werden. Insgesamt können 7 Gamepads an der PS3 betrieben werden. Ein WLan Anschluss sorgt dafür, dass man mit der PlayStation Portable auf die PS3 zugreifen kann. Wie auch die nächste Xbox wird die PS3 Bilder, Musik und Videos abspielen können und über einen Video Chat verfügen.
